LOUISE TAYLOR

Louise Taylor is a socially engaged photographer living in rural County Durham. Her work often focuses on rural issues, people and place, and is rooted in a strong connection to the land. She is a founding member of Wideyed, a member of The Photobook Club Collective and is motivated to present her work in unusual ways, with each opportunity a chance to reimagine it for a new space or audience.

Her current work uses ‘Wombling: Archiving Dad’ – an ongoing personal project that records her dad’s objects following his unexpected death – as a vehicle to experiment with new approaches in creating and disseminating photobooks.

She also develops and delivers participatory photography projects in the community, most recently – Home Time – a Wideyed project that engaged with care home residents and shielders recording their experiences through the pandemic.
